If your dog or cat is sick or injured, we understand that this may be a stressful and difficult time for you. North Georgia Veterinary Specialists’ Emergency and Critical Care service is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are therefore open after hours, during the weekends, and during all holidays. Located in Buford, Georgia, we are within easy commute from any of the surrounding cities. We always have experienced veterinary emergency clinicians on duty and are fully equipped to handle diverse veterinary medical and veterinary surgical emergencies. We offer the most current technological services, in a personalized environment that treats our patients and their families in a caring and professional manner.
Your veterinarian may also elect to refer your pet to our veterinary emergency service for any of the following reasons:
- You have an emergency with your pet outside of their regular office hours.
- Your pet requires emergency surgery before you are able to schedule the surgery in your veterinarian’s hospital.
- Your pet needs on-going monitoring or medical care overnight or over a weekend or holiday.
- Your pet requires (or may require) a transfusion or constant rate infusion drug therapy.
- Your pet would benefit from post-surgery or post-anesthesia monitoring, supervision, and/or pain management.
We cannot, nor do we intend to, replace the important ongoing relationship and trust between you and your veterinarian. We are part of your pet’s healthcare team. We partner with your veterinarian and are constantly communicating with them to maintain the continuum of care.
