If your pet is sick or injured, it’s natural to feel worried or upset. You’ll want to talk with your veterinarian, get answers to your questions and learn as much as you can about your pet’s condition.
Depending on what kind of injury or sickness affecting your pet, or the procedure your pet needs, your veterinarian may treat your pet or recommend that you see a veterinaryspecialist. If you live in the North Georgia area, you and your veterinarian can choose North Georgia Veterinary Specialists, for state-of-the-art care, delivered only by residency trained and board-certified specialists.
Why see a specialist?
To be designated a specialist, a veterinarian must have completed at least a 4 year program of advanced training, beyond veterinary school and meet the stringent requirements of a specialist college recognized by the American Veterinary Medical Association. This advanced, specialized training and certification process is your best assurance that your pet will receive the most up-to-date and effective care available.
Our specialists have excellent qualifications, years of experience and a great love for animals. Learn more about them here [link to: Meet the Doctors page].
North Georgia Veterinary Specialists is a referral only specialty practice, as well as a 24hr 365 day a year emergency and critical facility. We work closely with your veterinarian, who refers your pet to us. We get all the necessary medical information from your veterinarian and discuss the medical or surgical care your dog or cat needs. Our emergency service also works closely to your veterinarian and will transfer your pet back to your veterinarian for ongoing and routine care once we evaluate and manage your pet’s emergent needs.
After an evaluation and possible medical or surgical procedure(s), we care for your pet until he or she is stabilized and their presenting problems are resolved. We continue working with your regular veterinarian as needed, to follow-up and make sure your pet is recovering normally. Throughout your experience at North Georgia Veterinary Specialists, our doctors and staff will keep you fully informed about your dog or cat. Partnership with you and your veterinarian is essential to achieving the best outcome for your beloved pet.
