Here’s what some of our referring veterinarians and clients have to say about North Georgia Veterinary Specialists:

After our almost nine year-old yellow lab, Maui, was sidelined by a painful limp for sometime, I brought her to see Dr. Oshin after he was referred to us by our regular veterinarian. I found Dr. Oshin to be very caring, and knowledgeable. In addition, I was most impressed with and grateful for the time he took to explain to me in great detail Maui’s condition and his recommended treatment. Amy, a staff member at North Georgia Veterinary Specialists was very kind, caring and helpful, too. I am pleased to report that as a result of Dr. Oshin’s care, Maui is much better, and is able to participate in daily activities now without the need for surgery.” – Sarah Gallaher

We used North Georgia Veterinary Specialist because of a recommendation from my dog’s (Sophie)normal Veterinarian. I was initially uncertain about a recommendation for a facility that had not been around very long, but I can say that my experience turned out to be so beneficial for Sophie. Sophie is 9 years of age and had gotten to where she was unable to walk on her left side – paralysis was setting in. Dr. Oshin experience and caring for Sophie surpassed my initial expectations. When I took Sophie in he was able to pin-point her problem area just by watching her try and walk. Of course, Sophie had an idea why she was there and tried to be brave and pretend she could walk (did not want surgery…LOL!!!) I was provided with updates on Sophie’s condition after her surgery. Sophie has been home for about 1 month since her surgery and she is doing exceptionally well. I have informed my friends that if they need a great surgeon, I would recommend Dr. Oshin. Again, thank you all for taking such great care of Sophie.” – Gwendolyn Thomas

“Our Lab, Bokken came in limping one evening and we took him to the emergency clinic. As we feared, Bokken had a torn cruciate ligament in his right rear leg. The veterinarian on duty at the emergency clinic we went to that evening, along with our regular veterinarian the next day, recommended Dr. Curcio and Dr. Oshin. Dr. Curcio did the surgery on Bokken and he did great. He is now fully recovered. I was so pleased with their professionalism, their friendliness, and the personal care and interest they took in Bokken and us. I can’t say enough about how great their support staffs were. We highly recommend these fine professionals to everyone needing specialist treatment for their animals” – Larry Adams

Hey, I had Nyah, my 3 yr old pit bull in a couple months ago for a luxating patella surgery. Dr. Oshin gave me a good price and not only this the surgery seems to have completely worked. She’s been able to run sooo much better than before. I know I’ll need to do the other leg at some point but her being able to at least use one leg has just brought her so much more comfort and i can see the relief in her eyes. Dr. Oshin did such a great job, I’ve never seen her happier with one good leg. Dr. Oshin THANK YOU SO MUCH i don’t have to cry anymore when my little girl can’t play with the other dogs. We will be back for the other leg as soon as possible. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!!” – Liz Burke

Our 7 year old Beagle Reggie blew out his CCL and tore his meniscus. At our request, our vet referred us to three different specialists. After consulting with Dr. Oshin and another local specialists practice, we selected North Georgia Veterinary Specialists and we couldn’t have made a better decision. Dr. Oshin and Amy were very thorough, friendly, and personable, from the first through to he last visit. He took time to carefully describe and discuss the problem, the corrective options, and his recommendations. Due to Reggie’s activity level, he needed a TPLO surgery, the more aggressive of the options. During the procedure, Dr. Oshin recognized a behavior in the knee that might require a follow up treatment and performed the needed adjustment while still in the OR. Reggie has, to date, made a full recovery and is as active as before the injury (and is much happier than the 10+ weeks in confinement). We highly recommend North Georgia Veterinary Specialists to anyone we know that has a need for a specialist, and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them in the future” – Eric & Tricia Heard

“I don’t know where to begin. The words astounding or extraordinary don’t even begin to express the dedication, determination and compassion of the Dr.’s and Technician’s. When our 6 lb toy poodle (Skye) was attacked by a much larger dog, he had barely a chance to survive. The work done by the incredibly talented and caring Technician’s along with the unwavering determination and impeccable skills of the Doctors here saved Skye’s life without a doubt. The staff here had never seen Skye or us before we brought him in and they treated myself and Skye as if we belonged to them. For every triumph Skye experienced, they cheered as much as I did. Every moment of progress clearly meant as much to them as it does to myself and my family. Skye will come home tomorrow and we owe his life to this facility but more importantly to the people in it. I was allowed to see Skye at any hour and was treated with the utmost decency, sympathy and respect each time I have been there. Skye and I were not treated like patients so much as we were treated like family. When I first went to the facility I spoke with Dr. Curcio, I knew instantly that while Skye had little chance, they would do everything they could to make sure he came home. Even that first night there was no mistaking the sincerity when I was told they would do whatever they could to keep him alive. Dr. Oshin performed nothing short of a miracle in keeping Skye safe, comfortable and under a close watch during surgery and at his most vulnerable and critical moments. Taking special care to put Skye back in tact after what could have been an instantly deadly attack. Donna, Brittany and the other Tech’s always made sure that not only was Skye comfortable but that I was as well. Each person I came in contact with understood my pain, my tears and my heartache to watch Skye fight for survival and they were always warm and sincere in there optimism that he would pull through.
As I spoke to Dr. Oshin tonight during a visit, he put there work into the words I could not, “We were invested in him too.” I couldn’t agree more with what he said. This staff, the people here with hearts of gold who didn’t know Skye from any other, they were invested in him. I saw this same standard of care repeated with each new addition that was admitted and released. It is a statement that will resonate with me for a long time and I will never forget what they did for Skye and for our family. For all that was done, they somehow managed to also stay within the budget we had to work with. To put a price on the gift of having Skye come home, I can’t, the gift we have been given is priceless. The personal treatment Skye received rivals what I see in most hospitals for humans. To all that were involved in the care of Skye, I give you my gratitude and the deepest heartfelt THANK YOU! All of you are responsible for making sure this special little boy comes home and in truth, there are not enough words to express to you how monumentally grateful I am to each of you for investing in Skye”.

Sincerely,
