CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) ANNOUNCEMENT

Considering the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we are implementing the following policies to protect our staff, clients, and patients. Our goal is for you to remain safe while we care for your pet.

NGVS is committed to helping stop the spread of Coronavirus by reducing the amount of human-to-human contact in our building. As essential service providers we are happy to be here for you and your pet. However, to decrease the risk of exposure so that we can continue to support our community of pets who need urgent and specialized care, we are restricting hospital access to employees only. We understand not being with your loved one is frustrating.

  • Please bring your mobile phone as it will be the only way we will know you have arrived and how we will communicate with you in the parking lot. Please remain in your vehicle.
  • When you arrive at the hospital, please park in a destinated spot and call 678-835-3300, select option 2 and provide your “Curbside Appointment Number.” After providing this number, we ask you not switch parking spaces.
  • A client service representative will ask you for your pet’s name and which service you are visiting. The check-in process and all other interactions with our staff will be conducted either at your car or over the phone. If you can complete online forms and email to the hospital prior to your pet’s appointment, this will expedite check-in. If are unable to complete forms prior to visit, as in the case of an emergency, please complete the paperwork to the best of your ability.
  • After check-in, a technician will come to your vehicle and speak with you to confirm your information and inform you of the next steps. We will escort your pet into the hospital for their appointment or procedure.
  • After examination, your pet’s specialist will call you to further discuss your pet’s condition and any diagnostics, treatments and hospitalization. You will receive a verbal estimate.
  • A client service representative will come to your car and obtain your signature on the estimate and a deposit if applicable.

Discharges

  • A technician will come to your vehicle with your pet, medications, and discharge instructions. If discharge instructions are unavailable, we will email them to you as soon as possible and/or arrange a phone discharge appointment with the doctor.

EMERGENCIES

  • After the check-in process, a technician will escort your pet to the hospital for triage. We ask that you remain in your vehicle and our doctor will call you to discuss your pet’s condition and any diagnostics, treatments, and hospitalization.
  • For euthanasia or end-of-life visits, we are allowing only two (2) family members in the hospital. You both are required to wear a mask.

VISITATION

  • If your pet is hospitalized, we are not allowing visitation for stable patients at this time. If your pet is critical, your pet’s doctor will make decisions allowing a 15-minute visit. For your safety, our staff, and other patients, we are enforcing our COVID-19 sanitation protocols.
  • During COVID-19, our bathrooms are closed to our clients.

Not everyone is pleased with the changes and restrictions on our availability and safety protocols. Please know these changes and restrictions frustrate us too. We want to see you. We want to not wear masks. We want to not have visit your vehicle for curbside care. We want to shake your hand and hug during difficulty times. We want our normal back too.

The constant disruption of our routine is taking a toll on all and like everyone we are feeling the pain. Thank you for your understanding and patience. If you, like us, are considered an essential worker, we appreciate your service to the community.
